Are you passionate about sustainable materials and cutting-edge packaging technology? Elopak is looking for a Project Engineer – Board Development to join our dynamic team.

This role offers a dynamic opportunity within an international environment, working for one of the top three global suppliers in the packaging industry. Main tasks will be:

  • Innovate and enhance the paperboard used in cartons, improving recyclability and minimizing environmental impact.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, suppliers, and customers worldwide to introduce new sustainable board types to the market.
  • Conduct comprehensive tests simulating every stage of the product lifecycle.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve issues during development and testing phases.
  • Contribute to the advancement of new test methods.
  • Provide technical support to production plants and Market Units across different countries, assisting with troubleshooting.
  • Prepare and deliver precise, well-documented technical reports.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with materials knowledge.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to integrate innovative solutions into designs.

We are looking for

The ideal candidate for this role is an independent and outgoing professional with a strong ability to build networks across colleagues, suppliers, and customers. You are thorough and open-minded, bringing both structure and adaptability to manage multiple project activities effectively.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen innovative mindset are essential, alongside strong communication skills in both written and verbal English. While knowledge of a Scandinavian language is an advantage, it is not required.

Other requirements

  • M.Sc/M.Eng/M.Tech in Material Engineering or Chemistry with relevant industry experience
  • Willingness to travel 40-60 days per year, mainly within Europe

We are part of a national and international team of 100+ specialists working on interdisciplinary projects.
